Lakshmi Menon did not ask for pay... only the hero!
Lakshmi Menon is one of
the fast-rising heroines in the tinsel town with several biggies in her kitty.
The actress has now been roped in play Siddharth’s lead pair
in Jigarthanda. When director Karthik Subburaj of Pizza
fame approached the actress to star oppositeSiddharth, she was very excited and
immediately agreed to sign the dotted lines, say sources.
We also hear that
Lakshmi Menon has been Siddharth’s fan right from his debut film Boys
and did not even discuss her pay packet for Jigarthanda as she did
not want to let the opportunity pass by.
Amala
Paul or Samantha for Suriya?
Looks like Amala Paul will not pair
up with Suriya in Dhuruva Natchathiram. Sources say that director Gautham Menon
has not finalized on the heroine yet and it is mere rumors that Amala has been
roped in for this film.
There is also a buzz that Gautham’s
favorite heroine Samantha is in consideration for this role and she may be
lucky one to bag it provided she has the requisite call sheet.
Well, only an official announcement
on the heroine can clear the doubt on this!
Nasriya
incurs Dhanush and Arya's wrath
Neram actress Nasriya’s popularity
rose to greater heights due to her sheer beauty. And she immediately became a
hot actress in Kollywood with several top heroes vying to sign her for their
film.
She has bagged Dhanush’s Nayyandi
and in the Arya starrer Raja Rani, Nasriya plays the second heroine. However,
sources say that Nasriya did not take part in any of these shootings but flew
down to Andhra Pradesh to star in a Telugu flick.
When enquired, sources said that
Nasriya had allotted call sheet for Nayyandi and Raja Rani for the same dates.
As she did not want to disappoint both the stars, Nasriya has decided to opt
for the Telugu flick, we hear.
Annakodi
release doubtful
Bharathiraja’s Annakodi is slated
for release tomorrow, June 28th, 2013 and the film is facing
problems from a caste-based outfit.
Apparently, it is a love story of a
Dalit boy and Thevar girl and a caste outfit has filed a petition at the court
seeking a ban on the film.
This case is expected to come up for
hearing today and the issue is anticipated to be sorted out amicably.
Veteran director Bharathiraja had
directed a film after a long sabbatical and is now facing problems but
hopefully this could turn out to be publicity for Annokodi!
Thulasi
in Gautham Menon's film?
Sources in the know say that Radha’s
daughter Thulasi may be Gautham Menon’s next heroine. When Radha came to know
that Gautham was searching for a heroine suitable to play a school girl in the
Suriya starrer Dhuruva Natchathiram, she immediately met the director seeking a
chance for her younger daughter Thulasi.
Unfortunately, the director had by
then finalized Amala Paul for the role. Knowing well that Thulasi has the
talent, Gautham is said to have promised Radha that he will sign her up for his
next venture.

Prakash weds Saindhavi
GV Prakash and Saindhavi entered the
wedlock at 10:23 am exactly today, June 27th, 2013 at the Mayor

Suriya's
Singam 2 certified... gearing up for a massive release!
Suriya’s Singam 2 has been certified
with a U. With the film getting a clean chit, the makers of Singam 2 have
heaved a sigh of relief and are now gearing up to release it on July 5th as
planned earlier.
Singam 2 stars Suriya in the lead
role with Anushka and Hansika as his heroines. The prequel was a mega hit and
this prompted director Hari to go ahead with the sequel.
There are huge expectations for this
flick as the prequel was a racy entertainer. The songs have already busted the
charts, it is worth mentioning here.
Sundar
C changed it for Hansika
Sundar C originally had some very
difficult dialogues for Hansika in Theeya Velai Seyyanum Kumaru, say sources
close to the film unit. But Hansika had a tough time on the sets memorising and
mouthing these dialogues and finally the director made some drastic changes to
her dialogues, we hear.
Only when her dialogues were
simplified, Hansika was able to perform well before the camera and the entire
unit was at ease.
Dhanush's
Maryan postponed again!
Maryan was censored last week and
there were huge expectations that the film would release on June 28th
clashing with the Tamil version of Raanjhnaa, titled Ambikapathy. But, now we
hear that the clash is not likely to happen as Maryan’s release has been
postponed yet again.
Earlier, Maryan was supposed to
release on the same date as Raanjhnaa made it but this was averted at the last
moment with Maryan’s censor not happening due to various reasons.
Though the film has been censored,
Mass
Maharaja's Balupu censored
Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja starrer
Balupu has been censored with an A certificate. The film, starring Ravi Teja,
Shruti Haasan and Anjali in the lead roles will hit the screens on June 28th,
confirmed its director Gopichand.
It may be mentioned here that Balupu
ran into trouble recently with some protesters objecting to a scene in the film
that mocks the Brahmins’ agitation.
Siddharth
on his wedding...
There have been enough rumors
that Siddharth and Samantha are planning to tie the nuptial knot.
This is the hot topic for discussion
in Kollywood and Tollywood now and there were expectations
that an official announcement on this would be out soon.
When the star was asked about this
wedding plans, he denied outright that there are no such plans. Busy with
several projects including Jigarthanda, Siddharth said that his
career is on a upswing
with Theeya Velai Seyyanum Kumaru turning out to be a
huge hit and he doesn’t want to enter the wedlock now.
Nayanthara
and Anushka on the same route
Nayanthara and Anushka are
the two leading ladies ruling the roost in Tamil as well as Telugu film
industries. And interestingly, both of them are currently doing heroine-centric
films. While Anushka is busy with the period flick
Rani Rudramma Devi, Nayan will be seen in the remake of the
Hindi blockbuster Kahaani.
We hear that both the heroines have
demanded and got Rs. 2 crores as pay packet for starring in their
respective films. Sources say that Nayanthara is planning to demand
the same pay for all her future projects and Anushka is likely to
follow suit following advices for her close friends.
Trisha
sidelined... its Amala Paul for Suriya
There are reports doing rounds
in Kollywood that Gautham Menon has sidelined Trisha
and has opted for Amala Paul instead for his upcoming movie Dhuruva Natchathiram.
There was a heavy competition among the actresses to pair up
with Suriya in this film and finally we hear that Amala is
the lucky one.
Enquiries revealed
that Gautham opted for Amala as she would be more suitable
than Trisha. Amala is reported to be on cloud nine having bagged this
role as she has already paired up with Vijay in Thalaivaa.

Uma alleges sexual harassment
Popular television host Pepsi Uma
has alleged sexual harassment by her co-worker at a private television channel.
In a complaint filed at the Guindy Police Station, Uma alleged that Saravana
Raj, who is her senior at work place, has been seeking sexual favors from her.
Tortured by him for a long, Uma had
filed a police complaint. Saravana Raj had been arrested by the police and sent
to Puzhal Jail. The investigations are on, say police sources.

Menon's future plans
Lakshmi Menon, who has just
completed her high school, is set on completing her higher secondary as well.
When asked why she prefers to continue her education when she has several
prestigious projects lined up, the actress says that film industry is a very
unpredictable place to stay put.
Pointing out that she may not last
more than a couple of years, Lakshmi Menon says that in such a circumstance
education would come to her aid. The actress hopes to go to college and if she
doesn’t find any good opportunities in films then she may take up a job.
